TUMBLING MEDIA
Tumbling media can be used for cleaning, deburring and surface improvement, providing luster, and parts drying. We sell all common types:
Ceramic
Ceramic media consists of a mixture of clays and various abrasives. Formulations vary according to the desired result, from fine burnishing to aggressive cutting. A wide variety of shapes and sizes affords effective processing of many different part configurations. We stock most common shapes and sizes.
Plastic & Synthetic
Many sizes, shapes and compositions to suit your specific application. Low density light weight media (fast or mild cut) is suitable for a wide range of operations such as burr removal, edge breaking, or surface preparation prior to plating or buffing. Higher density media is more aggressive and can reduce cycle times. It is used for fast or ultra-fast cutting.
Steel Media
Carbon and stainless steel media is ideal for imparting bright finishes on small parts. Unlike other medias, it lasts indefinitely. Its performance is enhanced by its weight which cushions parts and adds pressure to shorten cycle times. Steel Shot & Grit download.pdf
Corn Cob & Walnut Shell
Organic materials have a wide range of applications. Crushed corn cob is used primarily to dry parts after vibratory finishing. Treated corn cob and walnut shell are enhanced with various abrasives to provide smooth, high luster finishes on a wide variety of metals. Back to Top
